Gurbey Guven joined Viking International as Drilling & Workover Manager in 2024. Mr. Guven has 18+ years of experience in oil, gas, and geothermal wells’ drilling, completion, and production operations. In his current role, he is responsible for 7 drilling rigs / 2 workover rig operations, drilling fluid operations, heavy equipment operations, rental tool services, casing & tubing running services, equipment inspection & maintenance schedules, and liaison with clients and vendors.
Mr. Guven started his career as a Production Engineer at Thrace Basin Natural Gas (Turkey) Corporation (TBNG) in 2008. In 2011, he continued his career as a Well Testing Field Supervisor with Viking International. For his personal development, he moved to the drilling & completions service line in 2012. He then joined Enerjeo geothermal company in 2015 as a Drilling & Completions Superintendent. Later, he continued his career at Production Solutions International from 2019 to 2020 as a Drilling & Completions Superintendent, and from 2020 to 2024 as a Well Testing Manager.
Gurbey Guven holds certifications as a Cyber Chair Operator in the X-COM system, NOV TDS-11SA Top Drive Operator, IADC Rig Equipment Inspector, IWCF Well Control Supervisor Level, and International Gas Business Management Certificates, and he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in Turkey.
